Change is coming!

So this past month has been full of ups and downs, a little rollercoaster that I’m all too use to. I’m working to change that!

If anyone has noticed, my blogs have come slower and slower, and I want to apologize about that. Been working between two and half jobs (half being commissions lol) and it has eaten into any free time I have. This will be changing soon!

Two days ago, I finally put my two weeks notice in at Petco and once those two weeks are up, I will be bulldozing through work with two new projects I will be working on. I’m excited for it! Plus it will give me more time, which is something I have been struggling with.

Shadow and Bone

So yes, I’ve been watching it, being a huge fan of the trilogy. More so because I love the Darkling, a inspiration for another character of mine. Gerallt Myrddin.

Rush rush rush!

Attempting to make time where I can since starting up two jobs while trying to keep up with my own personal challenge. A graphic a day! My sleep is so suffering but it will be worth it. It has to be! lol

Beyond that, I’m starting to write again, or forcing myself to JUST DO IT. Most of my problem is that I just don’t do it because I’m listening to everyone one…but myself. Not anymore. It might be a slow process but it will be mine. Something that will show - in time - through this blog as graphics turn to videos and from there, my story and all my characters begin to take shape.

In the mean time, I will learn where I can.

Busy Busy Bee

So it has been a while since I could focus on my site. I’ve been keeping up with a graphic a day, though more seen from my Instagram account. Aly4artsake, same even for my Instagram! But beyond that, I’ve taken up a second job - of sorts. I’m learning video editing and video color grading, even if the latter is easier. So on top of taking more hours at Petco, helping with a project with my art mama, and dealing with medical appointments due to my car accident in Feb - I’ve had very little time to myself.

On a better note though, I’m vaccinated! Yay! (Even if I can’t move my left arm much right now. lol) I’ve also found my old Wacom tablet! Not like I really lost it, it was shoved into a box that was put up into the top of my closet. lol The better news is the fact I found a digi-pen and it will actually work on the tablet. Due to that excitement, I went a little overboard and spent a whole night playing around with it.

This is what resulted in my lack of sleep.

Isn’t it cool?! I’m loving this tablet! And though it is no Surface Pro 7 or XP-PEN Artist 24 Pro monitor, it is still a tool that allows me attempt to draw digitally. And believe me, I’ve been trying every chance I get! Here is a sneak peek at what (or who) I will be focusing on next.

I love Marvel comics and their movies! (Too bad DC is still trying to play catch up and can never give due to their amazing characters and stories because of bad management in the movie industry.) Check out my Instagram or Facebook for a look at the Thor image I did!

Commissions are OPEN and filling up!

So I just started up commissions and taking it slow for the most part, being I have enough on my plate already. But currently I have two commissions going and I’m enjoying both incredibly!

I’m working with my old art mentor (and pretty much my second mama lol), Harriet Richardson, on a project for a book cover she is doing. I started a few ideas but thumbnails for now.

The second commission is from Hex Mortis, which happened on a spur of a moment (and inspiration). I’m excited that the owner of Hex Mortis liked what I made! I love hearing feedback from my art. <3

The image is from the filming of Cosmic Sin, a scifi movie with Bruce Willis and Frank Grillo. Hex Mortis does production awesomeness for movies and the look on this badass-ery here is all due to Hex Mortis. Plus the amazing photos from the super talented David Hoang.

Shop is UP!

Print shop is up and running! Still fixing things here and there as I come across them, so it is a slow process. Especially with getting all my files print ready and organized. But, of course, I haven’t forgotten about my daily graphic! Trying to do that graphic a day but damn real life!

Now here is a peak at what I’ve been working on from the side. Also if there are any images you would like to see put up onto the print shop, please let me know! I would gladly help in making your print that much better. :)

Prints Coming Soon!

So I’m putting together a gallery to allow anyone to buy my prints. It’s a slow process because it is just little ol’ me but it will get done. I will have my first test print sale thinger…up soon. Yeah, that. lol Will be selling my Cosmic Flutter!

New Brushes!

I love playing with new brushes, it always gives me a new drive of creative inspiration. Still trying to find the motivation to keep up with a graphic a day. Will see what happens down the line with my style after all this. lol

Star Wars Day

Because I want a bit of a distraction from the growl of these last few weeks. And because I love Star Wars.

Belle <3

Belle, my sister’s dog of a beautiful 18 years, passed last summer and I’ve been wanting to do something with her. I have so many little animal loves in my life, I need to do more with those I care for the most. I like seeing the bright reactions of those that see themselves in my work, be it a model or a more organic photograph.

Star Gazing

Okay so I’m keeping up with this ‘a graphic a day’ thing, even though I did like three graphics today. I’m always playing around while polishing the techniques I’ve made over the years. I know with a graphic/digital artist, finding a good access to images is always important. A means to find inspiration when it just isn’t coming to you. So I’m going to go through images of people and things in my life and begin to incorporate them into the artwork I make.

Can't sleep, so art!

When you feel tired from a long day of work but still can’t sleep. So I turn to Photoshop and music. Too many nights like this but these are the times where I learn the most and find the best inspiration. I just play music and look through images until something speaks to me.

This is the result of such a moment.

Play learning with Photoshop

One of my favorite things to do is to just play. Be it with photoshop, photography, or what have you - I learn best when there is no pressure and I get to…well, play. I could do this for hours. Sadly, I don’t have hours. So here is a little something I did in the morning while enjoying my coffee and egg in the basket. One is a slow progress of working with my images of the story I’m writing. The other space one is just because…well, I love listening to trance industrial music and it always gets me in a cyberpunk kind of mood. lol Hope you like it!

Been having an interesting first of the year but I’ve made an attempt to keep up with digital art when I can. I work with animals, so animals are easily on my mind. So now I have animal images.

So I’ve made so many fliers in my graphic design years, I can no longer remember how many I’ve done. Hell, I have a section in my website all about fliers. Or I think I still do…
